1989 IFMAR Worlds - 2WD "A-final" RE-ENACTMENT!!!!

2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the first-ever IFMAR Off-Road World Championships...
But if there’s one event that still gives Aussie RC racers goosebumps, it’s the 1989 IFMAR Worlds in St. Ives, Sydney.
Think about it… the legendary 2WD A-Mains, the iconic teams, the 2.2” tires, the Stealth Car, and of course, the Masami slides.
The names alone spark nostalgia:
Masami – Dunn – Halsey – Lett – Vehlow – Drescher – Booth – "Magic" Joel Johnson – Jack Johnson – Ron Rosetti
Those performances became RC folklore—etched in history as one of the most thrilling moments our sport has ever seen.
Fast forward 36 years… and the IFMAR Worlds are returning to Australia in 2025!
Now read on ....
To celebrate, we’re pulling off something truly EPIC.
For this year’s Vintage Bash 4.0, we are faithfully recreating all 10 of those legendary cars from the 1989 Worlds and re-enacting that historic showdown at the Knox track.
( And this time, every car will be running on 2.2” tyres! )
...all we need now are "volunteer" drivers...
Will we see Aussie RC legends step up?
Or will there be some special international guests making an appearance?
Do YOU have what it takes to relive one of the most epic battles in RC history?
